What is InboxDraftWriter?
An AI inbox assistant. It sorts email into 8 labels with a reason for each, writes replies in your voice for you to review, reminds you about emails nobody answered, tracks what you promised and pulls bills into CSV or Tally XML.
Is it free?
Yes. There are no seats, no credits and no trial that turns into a charge. Only paid add-ons are charged, at exactly our cost (today: Claude fallback AI, used only if our own AI server fails).
Does it ever send email for me?
No. It only writes drafts. Auto-send exists only if the workspace owner turns it on, creates a rule, types a confirmation phrase, and the sender is someone you have written to before.
Can I connect my Gmail or Outlook?
Not yet. Gmail and Outlook connection is coming soon (Google app verification and its security assessment are in progress). Today you can try everything on the sample inbox.
What is the sample inbox?
A demo mailbox of 18 demo emails: a production outage, a pilot question, a meeting request, two bills, newsletters and more. It shows sorting, drafts, follow-ups and bills without connecting anything.
Which AI writes the drafts?
Our own AI server first. Only if it fails do we fall back to Anthropic's Claude, and you can switch that off with "Surge server only" in Settings.
Do you train AI on my email?
No.
How long do you keep email?
Email bodies are deleted after 90 days by default; you can change the window, or use metadata-only mode, which keeps no bodies and writes no drafts.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes: Settings → Export my data downloads everything as JSON (never tokens or passwords), and Delete all data removes it.
Does it work with Tally?
Yes. Bills → Export Tally XML, then in Tally Prime: Gateway of Tally → Import → Vouchers. CSV export is there too.
Zoho Books or QuickBooks?
Coming soon. The push is built but needs our Zoho and Intuit apps to be approved first.
Is there a WhatsApp digest?
Coming soon. Today the daily digest is in the app, or by email if you tick it in Settings.
Can my team share an inbox?
Yes. Share a mailbox with your workspace, assign threads, set open/snoozed/done, leave internal notes and see when a teammate is already replying.
Does it reply in Hindi or Telugu?
That feature is built but switched off for now; drafts are in English.
How is it different from Fyxer?
It is free (Fyxer Pro is $49 per seat per month), shows the reason for every label, tracks commitments and exports bills to Tally. Fyxer connects to Gmail and Outlook today, has a live meeting bot and SOC 2; we do not yet.
I forgot my password.
Use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page. The emailed link works once and expires in 30 minutes.
